So you’ve decided to take your marketing to the next step and order stickers – fun, one-of-a-kind marketing collateral bound to bring more attention to your company, thus bringing in more customers. Go through our step-by-step checklist to discover how easy it is to order through Smartpress.com.
Step 1: Stock
When ordering stickers, first ask yourself, is this a sticker or a label? Smartpress offers label and CD/DVD disk label printing, which can be used to personalize whatever you can think of, at whatever quantity you need!
If you’ve decided on strictly stickers, then it’s time to narrow down your options even more. Do you want them to be permanent or removable? Will the stickers be out in the weather, like car permits? Permanent is your way to go! Thinking something a little more temporary, such as campaign stickers to wear on your shirt or fun stickers for your notebook? Removable is the best option for you.
Lastly, consider whether you would like the stickers printed on clear or white stock. Keep in mind, printing on white will give your colors an extra pop, whereas on clear they will appear transparent and a little muted. If you do decide to print clear, we strongly recommend that you print full color with spot white to lend some opacity to the ink.
Step 2: Colors
Step 3: Size
Good news for you! Smartpress offers custom sizes for printing stickers (in addition to numerous other projects!). If our five preset dimensions (ranging from 1” x 1” to 4.5” x 4.5”) doesn’t fit the bill for you, simply click on the “Use Custom Dimensions” button and enter the size you have in mind and we will make it work!
Step 4: Quantity
Whether you are printing for just a few select clients, or to pass out at a parade or trade show, our stickers can be printed in any quantity you may need. Whether it be 10, 3,000, or anything in between, Smartpress has you covered.
Step 5: Variable Data Personalization
The opportunities are endless when you throw Variable Data Printing (VDP) into the equation! Whether it is personalizing stickers with individual names, numbers, barcodes, QR codes, and beyond, you can create a sticker that is truly unique.
If you choose to use VDP, please be sure to include all the information within an Excel document, and attach with your document upload.
Step 6: Digital Laser Cutting
This step can get a little confusing, but it is one of the most crucial decisions you make when ordering stickers. There are five options offered in regards to digital laser cutting:
- Kiss Cut Single
- Kiss Cut Sheet
- Die Cut Single
- Combo Sheet
Kiss Cut means that the sticker is pre-cut to shape, but comes on a backing that’s not the same shape. For instance, if you are printing circle stickers, they would be printed on a square backing.
Die Cut refers to a sticker whose backing is cut to the same exact shape as the sticker itself. A heart-shaped sticker would therefore have a heart-shaped backing.
A Combo Sheet is a combination of a kiss and die cut. Stickers are uniquely shaped (kiss cut) but are on a backing of a different shape (die cut). The sheet is made up of multiple stickers on the backing.
Both Kiss Cut and Die Cut are available as individual stickers or on sheets. If you choose the “none” option, the sticker would be square on a square backing, or with rounded corners.
Step 7: Sequential Numbering
This tool is just another way that Smartpress can make your life easier. Pick a starting number, and each sticker will be individually numbered sequentially after the number of your choosing.
Step 8: Proofs
Your order includes a PDF Soft Proof that is sent back to you within 24 business hours confirming your design before we start production. For additional fees ($17.50-$50), you can order a hard proof sample of your sticker, printed in full color on your chosen stock, and shipped either ground or next-day air. A laser cut check is also available.
All that is left to do is press the confirm button! Soon, you’ll have bright, beautiful stickers delivered to your door, ready to spread the word of your company or cause.
